👉 This story is initially set in Lahore which was one of the cultural hubs during the times of British rule in India. Sudhir Kakar has successfully shuffled the elements of that time in a way the story needed to portray its characters. 👉Here, Kay Robinson is being dropped to the position of an Editor from Allahabad to Lahore as the editor of Civil and Military Gazette where he is assisted by the young Ruddy who goes by the name of Rudyard Kipling. 👉But this was not their first meet and they were literally riveted to each other by the bond of friendship which soon took flight in the sky with more comfort. In this book Kay narrates the life of Ruddy who is Amazonite among the pebbles.
